Training and Examination Information
Training is available to help you prepare for the amateur radio licence examinations. We offer tuition for all three levels of licence - Foundation, Intermediate and Full.
Training is usually delivered on Saturday mornings at the Club premises between 10am and noon. If no candidates have arrived by 10.15am the session may be closed.
Normally we expect a significant amount of self-study with support and guidance being available from the trainers to assist with any problems. The appropriate training books are available from the RSGB Bookshop.
We do not run formal training courses and therefore candidates can study at their own pace.

Examinations
The Foundation and Intermediate exams are usually held on a Saturday morning before the start of the training session. We need about 3 weeks notice to arrange these exams.
The Full licence exams are booked at times of our choosing, but may take a little longer to organise. It is also possible to sit the exams online, using the RSGB remotely invigilated online exams system.
Aberdeen ARS is a Radio Communications Foundation registered examination centre.
