AARS Receives a Gift From Amateurs in Oman
At the end of October 2023, we received an email from Mohib A41JZ to say that he was in Aberdeen for a few days and would like to come to our Club meeting that week. Mohib is familiar to several of our members who have worked him in the past and we would have been delighted to meet him in person. Unfortunately, on the evening of the Club meeting Mohib had to be on a flight out of Aberdeen and would be at the airport, so a change of plan was needed.
Eddie Munro MM0MUN (AARS President) and Dennis Cowie 2M0DWC (AARS Vice-Pesident) arranged to meet Mohib at his hotel before he left for the airport and they were presented with a plaque as a gift from the Royal Omani Amateur Radio Society, that Mohib had brought with him to the UK.
After meeting Mohib, Eddie said "It was a great pleasure to see Mohib in Aberdeen and we would like to thank both him and the Royal Omani Radio Society for this generous gift. Hopefully, the next time he is in the area his schedule will allow him to visit the Club and meet some more of our members"
The picture shows the plaque in its presentation case.
